How to inquire for a wedding package:
-
The first step is filling out our wedding inquiry contact form and shooting us your wedding date! If you’ve already booked your wedding venue, we’d love to know!
We'll check our availability and respond within 24-72 hours to let you know if we have your date still open.
Feel free to send over any extra details you’ve planned, your wedding day must-haves or your life story… we’re stoked to hear it all. :) -
If your date is open in our calendar - you’ll receive a link to book a Facetime/Zoom meeting with us from our email response.
Breathe. This isn’t a ‘this-meeting-could’ve-been-an-email’ meeting. There are a few reasons we ALWAYS meet with our wedding photography clients before booking:We only open a few select wedding dates each season so we can give our full attention and energy to clients who are the right fit.
Most of the couples that inquire with us haven’t ever been involved in wedding planning before. This is an opportunity for perspective that might change your approach or eliminate your overwhelming next steps. I’ll happily give you my ten cents; timeline tips, my opinion on venues, or ideas you might not have thought of… like how to get the most out of your wedding floral budget.
We honestly want you to have the best wedding day and planning experience possible, even if it’s not with us!
We believe the “best wedding photographer ever” is different for every person. We know many talented wedding photographers in Edmonton and we’ll happily point you in the right direction if we’re not the best match for your style or vision! -
After we’ve had the chance to meet and answer all your questions, if you feel like we’re YOUR “best wedding photographer”, let us know!
Next, we'll send you over a contract to review and an invoice, outlined with the wedding photography package that suits your needs/wants. Then, we’ll collect a 25% initial payment to secure your date in our calendar.
Once all the paperwork is complete, we get to schedule and start planning your engagement session! -
Sometimes clients ask me, “what do we do for our engagement photos?!” If you’re not excited about planning a whole bunch of details - let’s plan something simple and fun.
My favourite engagement photos are the ones that feel like YOU. Having something to do feels less ‘where-do-I-put-my-hands’. Check out our recent engagement photography sessions on the blog for inspiration!
If we’re struggling with what to plan… I’ll probably ask you the question I asked my most recent clients: What makes you happy?
You can expect your engagement photos in your inbox approximately 2-3 weeks following our scheduled date!
An engagement photo session can be included in any of our wedding photography packages. If you’re hoping for outdoor engagement photos and have your heart set on summer or fall, make sure to book in advance to plan for your desired season!
We found this article: ‘The Complete Guide to Planning a Wedding’ really insightful if you’ll be planning your own wedding from here! -
We’ll send you our final wedding questionnaire to fill us in on everything you’ve planned since we spoke last.
Then, approximately 2-3 months before the big day, we’ll sit down to finalize all the details in our last Facetime/Zoom meeting.
If you’ve hired a wedding planner, we’ll make sure to keep them in the loop beforehand and go over any details already discussed to save your time!Review your wedding photography timeline and make any necessary adjustments.
Confirm our photo locations and addresses.
Create your extended family wedding photography shot list (this includes all the combinations of your family, in one place so no one gets forgotten)!

It’s heeeeeerrreeeee… and then it’s gone. Blink and your wedding day is over. Don’t worry, you’ll have a set of fully edited + retouched sneak peeks in your inbox within 7 days!
The complete collection of your wedding photos will be delivered through a private online gallery within 12-16 weeks of your wedding date.
As experienced Edmonton wedding photographers, we’ve taken thousands of wedding photos in Edmonton and the surrounding areas. But, that doesn’t mean we slack on new spots! The day before or in the early hours on the big day, we’ll be out double checking our photo locations. Often the city closes a road or puts up construction fencing, so we always feel better double checking. :)
Obviously we can’t control everything - but we’ll do whatever we can to make your day as seamless as possible. Our wedding day systems have always been our strong suit… and help Type A clients (and us) feel more at ease. We’ll dive in to common questions about a photographer’s role on your wedding day below. ↓

Investing in a wedding photographer in Edmonton varies widely based on several factors… the photographer's experience, length of coverage, and the specific services included in the package. On average, couples can expect to spend between $2,500 and $6,000 for comprehensive wedding photography services in Edmonton.
For high-end services, including full-day coverage, multiple photographers, engagement sessions, and premium albums, photographers in Edmonton can charge $10,000 or more. It’s important to consider what is included in each package, such as high-resolution digital files, prints, additional hours of coverage, wedding videography, etc. Investing in a professional, based in Edmonton wedding photographer ensures that the whole day is documented, handled with care and delivered to you exactly as you hoped!

Absolutely. When the term “documentary photographer” started trending a handful of years ago, it didn’t come along with an explanation… and in turn, confused people. Documentary photography focuses on capturing candid moments without any prompting or direction. A fly-on-the-wall approach.
During your ceremony? I take a documentary approach - no, I’m not gonna tap you on the shoulder to direct you anywhere during the biggest moment of your life (LOL).
If you want editorial-style bride and groom portraits? I’ll provide guided direction (and a laugh here and there) to ensure you feel comfortable and look your best.
Your first dance? Back to the documentary approach.
I think you get it. A different answer depending on the setting. Some people are naturally at ease in front of the camera, while others may need a bit more guidance. Overall, my goal is to adapt to your comfort level, providing prompts and natural wedding photography poses to create authentic and flattering images. By combining candid shots with thoughtfully directed portraits, we can create a comprehensive and meaningful visual story of your wedding day.
If you want to understand the subtle differences in titles… this article outlines the difference between a documentary photographer, editorial photographer and photojournalism. -
The best wedding photo package for YOU might not be the best package for someone else.
But for most of our local clients, in Edmonton… wedding photography packages that offer a balance of comprehensive coverage, high-quality services, and customization to meet your specific needs would be exactly what we would look for! -
Don’t you worry, we’ve got the Edmonton photo location list on lock for our clients. We’ve been photographing and providing videography in Edmonton for over 5 years, and have found hundreds of unique locations that each offer something unique. Natural beauty, historic charm, or urban sophistication… our expertise in Edmonton wedding photography ensures that we can help you choose the perfect locations to capture the essence of your special day.

Both! Depending on the wedding package we create together, we may work alone or with additional team members. The following scenarios are most beneficial with a second photographer and/or videographer:
1. Large Wedding Party: If your wedding party includes 6+ bridesmaids or groomsmen, a second photographer can more efficiently manage group shots, ensuring that each person is captured beautifully.2. Separate Getting Ready Locations: When the bride and groom are preparing in locations more than a 15-minute drive apart, having a second photographer allows for simultaneous coverage. This ensures that both parties' preparations are documented without feeling rushed.
3. Large Guest List: For weddings with 100+ guests, a second photographer can capture a broader range of candid moments and guest interactions. Giving you even more joy and connection among your guests.
4. Bonus Art + Creativity: A second shooter allows us to capture different angles and moments simultaneously, providing a more comprehensive collection of images. Every photographer sees different opportunities within their own unique style. Two brains = 2x the art! -
Wedding photography is a luxury investment. The costs associated with hiring a professional wedding photographer reflect the level of services and expertise they provide. Here's why wedding photographers are often considered a significant investment:
1. Skill and Experience: Professional wedding photographers bring years of experience and unique artistic skill to the table. They’ve got that eye for detail, composition, and varying lighting scenarios. Often, it’s one of those ‘you’ve got it or you don’t’ type of things.
2. Time Commitment: The role of a wedding photographer extends beyond the event itself, before and after. Initial consultation, engagement session, (often) wedding planning to meticulous post-production editing… photographers dedicate significant time to ensure your photos are perfect. This extensive time investment is the biggest factor in the overall cost.
3. Professional Equipment: Capturing high-quality wedding photos requires substantial investment in professional-grade equipment. The gear I bring to a wedding exceeds the down-payment we put on our first home, to give you an idea. Photographers use advanced cameras, lenses, lighting, and editing software to produce exceptional images. Regular maintenance and updates to this equipment add to the overall expenses as well.
4. Business Expenses: Operating a photography business involves various overhead costs; programs, software, contractors, photography courses and education, insurance, marketing, studio space, and administrative expenses… the list goes on (and on). These costs are factored into the pricing to ensure the sustainability of the business.
5. Deliverables and Post-Production: After your wedding, photographers invest considerable time in editing and retouching photos to meet the quality of their work. This post-production process is essential for delivering a cohesive gallery of images.
In summary, the cost of hiring a professional wedding photographer reflects the combination of skill, time, equipment, business operations, and post-production efforts that contribute to creating lasting memories of your special day.

In Alberta, wedding photographers are required to charge the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) at a rate of 5% on their services. Unlike many other provinces, Alberta does not have a provincial sales tax (PST), so wedding photographers in Alberta are required to pay only GST applicable to photography services.
As a professional wedding photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta, I add 5% GST to all services to comply with federal tax regulations. This ensures that all services provided are in accordance with the current tax laws.
For more detailed information on GST rates and tax obligations in Alberta, you can refer to the Canada Revenue Agency's official resources. -
Determining how long to have a photographer at your wedding depends on several factors, including the size and complexity of your event, your specific preferences, and your budget. Typically, wedding photographers offer packages ranging from 6 to 12 hours of coverage. For smaller, intimate weddings, 6 hours may suffice to capture key moments such as the ceremony, portraits, and a portion of the reception. Larger weddings with multiple events and a significant guest list might require 8 to 10 hours to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Your photographer should be able to assist you in generating a timeline for your wedding day, and offer a suggestion based on it!Discuss your wedding photography timeline with your photographer to tailor the coverage to your needs and wants. This collaboration ensures that all significant moments are captured without unnecessary hours, balancing your vision with your budget.
We don’t ever want to leave our clients stressed about us missing anything - so we always provide an estimated number of hours in advance and offer the option to extend at any time (even right in the moment if their wedding reception is running late)!
