AUGUST 19 2022

This couple and their team from Alpenflora combined some of our FAVOURITE tricks of the trade for their wedding day. We’re here to dish out the details for our future couples!

Scroll below for three of our fav ways to maximize your floral budget!
#3 - The absolute easiest budget-friendly tip for your wedding day, coming right up!

Reduce, reuse, recycle - floral edition!

01. Recycle

Incorporating dried floral elements to your fresh florals is a great way to “beef up” and already stunning arrangement or instalment. We LOVED the use of various dried stems for added texture in these florals. This also makes preservation incredibly simple if you want to hang on to your wedding day florals forever.

02. Reduce!

This one is simple, but somehow couples still miss it. Wedding party bouquets as head table decor. Boom. Mic drop. You’re welcome.

Yup, no need for additional florals here at all. As long as the wedding team knows the plan and there are vases set out with a tiny bit of water, everything should go to plan. ;)

* DO keep in mind, if your bouquet is LARGE, it may cover your faces when sitting behind it. Typically, I’ll lay it down instead of upright in the vase if this is the case, but communicate with your photographer if you’re unsure!

03. Reuse!

Toria + Josh’s ceremony florals were designed with the intention for re-purposing (genius, I know). This took a bit of preparation between their wedding planning and floral team, but these pros executed it BEAUTIFULLY. Both set-ups felt unique, although the pieces were transported and set up without many changes! Our favourite easy-peasy money maximizing secret!!!

We see sooooo many STUNNING floral installations go to waste after wedding day, so here’s a couple of bonus tips to keep in mind!

- Make a plan for every floral arrangement from your big day beforehand. If you’re leaving on your honeymoon, you won’t be around to enjoy them anyways so let your great-auntie know she can take one on her way home. ;)
- If you’re planning on having your bouquet preserved, put someone in charge before the wedding of taking it home with them!

This couple's wedding planning process was a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns.

They were forced to re-arrange their wedding plans multiple times (including a complete change-over from a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta) due to the pandemic. So, after an exhaustive and anticipatory couple of years, sharing the images from their DREAM wedding feels the calm after the storm. We knew how important this day was to them, and we made it our mission to capture every giggle, tear and ear-to-ear grin.

The first looks Toria set up with her parents + son really set the tone for the day. Excitement, joy, overwhelming emotion + happy tears. Spontaneous moments like these are what we get out of bed on wedding mornings hoping to capture.

It. Was. Worth. The. Wait!

The couple exchanged vows (and special vows written for their son) in a beautiful lakeside ceremony, surrounded by an impressive 18-person wedding party – the biggest we've ever worked with. This was the kind of day your cheeks hurt from laughing so hard at the end. Their giant group honestly made us feel like Team Captains all day long.

Everything came full circle a few months later when we had the chance to show Toria and Josh their final wedding videos and photos in person at our studio. Seeing all of their faces light up as they saw everything come together made the editing days WELL worth it!
