Edmonton Engagement Photo Ideas

dxb creative co. + You, Me and Charcuterie

Getting great engagement photos (for those who claim to be "awkward” in front of the camera) comes down to one thing for us: doing something YOU love doing.

When we found out You, Me and Charcuterie was a mere few blocks away from home, I knew I had to incorporate one of their cute picnic boxes into an engagement session. After our first couple of boxes and sharing with a few clients, we were hooked. :)

The spring blossoms, the most STUNNING sunset + made for the most perfect backdrop for this creative and romantic couples session!

This retro-inspired sunset picnic engagement session in Edmonton was one of those creative ideas stuck in my head forever.

Almost every time I stop at the thrift store, I end up seeing something I NEED for a photoshoot. This time - was the cute stub wine glasses from Goodwill. 🥹 After arranging to pick up the charcuterie tray, I borrowed this cute vintage picnic basket from a friend and brought along my new (old) Canon AE-1 film camera, HOW CUTE.

Recently, I’ve been inspired by anything Y2K / nostalgic. Hi, it’s me - 90’s kid. :) A lot of clients tell me they don’t do anything unique and have no idea what to “do” during their engagement photos.

I’ve found this one question helps to bring creative engagement session ideas to life: If you could show your partner your FAVOURITE nostalgic memory, what would it be?

This one’s not mine, BUT - it’s heavily inspired by one of my favourite movies as a kid. :)
